By accessing or using the Metadata Style Guidelines platform ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. The Service is provided by Metadata Style Guidelines ("we," "us," or "our").
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
The Service is a metadata compliance engine for the music industry. It provides tools to validate, certify, and distribute music metadata across digital service providers, including format detection, field validation against store-specific specifications, compliance simulation, and certified metadata export.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding contracts to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and to keep your credentials secure.
You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach. We are not liable for any losses caused by unauthorized access to your account.
You agree not to:
Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, at our sole discretion.
The Service, including its software, validation engine, rule sets, documentation, trademarks, and visual design, is the intellectual property of Metadata Style Guidelines and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and patent laws.
You retain all rights to the metadata you submit for validation. By submitting metadata, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, validate, and transform that data solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.
The Service generates compliance certifications based on automated validation against publicly available store specifications. These certifications reflect the state of your metadata at the time of validation and do not guarantee acceptance by any digital service provider.
Store specifications change frequently. We do not warrant that our rule sets are current, complete, or error-free. You bear the ultimate responsibility for ensuring your metadata meets the requirements of each distribution partner.
Certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Fees, billing cycles, and feature tiers are described on our pricing page. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
We may change our fees at any time. Price changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle following notice of the change.
You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe you have engaged in fraudulent or harmful activity.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain your data for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations, after which it will be deleted.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that validation results will be accurate or complete.
You use the Service at your own risk. Any reliance on compliance certifications or validation output is strictly at your own discretion.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Metadata Style Guidelines and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us through the support channels available on our website.
